Description

The 31st Annual Conference and Workshops of the Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium will be held October 13-15, 2021 at the River's Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Workshops will be held Wednesday, October 13, with the conference following on Thursday and Friday. Highlights of the three-day event include:

Sessions Presentations

The Sessions Committee will select presentations to represent levels of expertise and a broad topic base. Selection will be based on the value of the proposed topic to the audience and the quality and clarity of the abstract. The Consortium is particularly interested in presentations highlighting the following topics (however, any topic is welcomed):

• Web, Mobile, and Story Maps
• Open Data and Open Source
• Remote Sensing and Drones
• GIS Program and Data Management
• Programming and Development
• Environment (Natural Resources, etc.)
• Transportation, Utilities, and Infrastructure
• Accessibility and Usability
• Education
• GIS Leadership and Management

Presentation Types:

• Lightning Round (12 minutes)
• Individual Presentation (25 minutes)
• General Topic Presentation (25 minutes)
• Technical Presentation (25 minutes)
• Research Discussion (60-90 minutes)
• Panel Discussion (60-90 minutes)
• Product Demonstrations (25 minutes)
• Poster - General (Display area: 4 ft (height) x 8 ft (width))
• Poster - Student (Display area: 4 ft (height) x 8 ft (width))
• Project-specific and cartographic exhibits welcome
• Web Applications – on touch screen display in exhibit hall

Abstract submission:

• Abstracts cannot exceed 300 words
• Incomplete abstracts will not be accepted
•  Abstract submission is online only
• Deadline is Friday, May 21, 2021

Registration fees will be as follows:

• Half-day Workshops
  $135 if payment received by September 22
  $170 if payment received after September 22
  $180 if payment is made On Site

• Conference
  $275 if payment received by September 22
  $310 if payment received after September 22
  $330 if payment is made On Site

• Student Rate (includes all presentations and lunches) $45

• Session and Poster Presenter Rate
  $230 if payment received by September 22
  $310 if payment received after September 22

• Presenter Rate
  Session and poster presenters will receive a $45 discount from the full conference rate if payment is received by September 22.

• Fresh Start or Retired Rate
  

  The MN GIS/LIS Consortium offers another option for those seeking a GIS position and for retired GIS related professionals to attend the Annual Conference. Potential attendees can fill out the Conference Rate Request Form by August 1.
